I Heart Faces – Halloween Costumes Week

You would think it would be easy.  Put costume on child, take her to the park, snap 5 or 6 pictures, and load the beautiful masterpieces on to your computer.  Instead, child won’t look at the camera, she runs away any time you get near her, and there’s no way any staging is going to take place.  Oh well.  It’s not like this is a surprise for me.  Instead, I took this mediocre picture and added a bit of “age” and grain.  Now, if only my kiddo would have kept the pirate hat on for more than 2 seconds!  :)  I’ve gotten a look at the first 80 photos, and WOW!  There are some amazing photos out there!

Go check them out at I ♥ Faces!

  • Brad - She's still cute.. even with the age and grain. LOLReplyCancel

  • Mrs. McFadden - she's still "take your breath away" beautiful even if she was being difficult for you.ReplyCancel

  • Pam D - There will be a day when she will SLAP you if you add any more age and grain..but for now, you can get away with it! (hmmm… have you thought of adding age and grain to any of Angie's pics… wait, did I just say that???). Seriously, you have a patient little girl.. last week, she got her cheeks pinched, and this week she had to rock the costume for mama. Baby wants a cookie….ReplyCancel

  • Drew - Pam,

You are absolutely inspiring…age and grain to Angie…that's a perfect idea! :)

Now, Jordyn…she's anything BUT patient. It's funny because I searched around for any picture that might fit the pink theme last week. I actually ended up changing Jordyn's shirt color. Then, I forced a connection between the theme and the photo. Ya know, whatever works! :)ReplyCancel

  • Becca - What a COOL costume! :-) ps – every time I take pictures of older kids, I realize I better take lots of Jayci while she's somewhat immobile . . . (she can walk, she's just slow enough that I can catch her!) :-)ReplyCancel

  • Stephanie - She's adorable!!!!!! I tell ya no matter what she doesn't take a bad picture!ReplyCancel

  • He & Me + 3 - Such a great costume and capture. She is preciousReplyCancel

  • Angie - The Arthur Clan - I ♥ ♥ ♥ this entry! Maybe another Top Ten?!? :)

And Pam – DO NOT GIVE THE GIRL ANY IDEAS! Oh my head…she gets me enough times as it is!ReplyCancel

  • Life with Kaishon - I love Lady Guineverre : ) Or whatever her name is. I always love your pictures. I adore your children and I am BEYOND amazed at your magnificent editing and picture taking skills! Someday I want to follow in your footsteps! Oh yes I do!

Kaish just saw this picture and he said. That is really good! See. You are AMAZING : )ReplyCancel

  • Adrienne in Ohio - She's so cute anyway, Drew. Even if she isn't looking at the camera.ReplyCancel

  • Jen - Love the effects you used- great photo and costume :)ReplyCancel

  • Taylor - So cute! I hear you on the lack of eye contact, they never want to co-operate lol! I love the old feel of this shot.ReplyCancel

  • Sonja - Gosh, i love this picture a lot! First, she's just stinkin' adorable and I like her expression. Sort adds an aloofness that I like. Kinda goes with her costume.

Great process too. Just a fabulous picture.ReplyCancel

  • Hayley - Well, let's say you did a terrific job with your less than perfect circumstances… This is a totally beautiful photo and she is just a doll!ReplyCancel

  • Julie Rivera Photography - Oh, the processing was just perfect for this image!ReplyCancel

  • Ali - Love the costume! I think this shot is beautiful and you captured her naturally! I think that too many people get wrapped around getting the "perfect" pose! Nice job!ReplyCancel
