I Heart Faces ~ Family

garlingers copy

I decided to add this photo for the family theme because I feel it represents friends and family.  The man on the left is actually a close family friend…he, his wife and son are very much a part of our family.  When they come to visit, they bring their RV and camp out for a couple of days at my in-laws.  When I’m talking an RV, I mean a gorgeous house on wheels that cost more than the house we live in.  :)  Their son loves riding the 4-wheelers, and it is a great time of catching up with what is going on in each other’s lives.

I felt like this scene captured a slice of family time.  My father-in-law is on the right.  The entire time he and his friend were talking, my son, Ben, kept jumping off the truck.  What was so funny is that the two never broke conversation.  They just watched for Ben to come, grabbed his hands, swung him down and kept going with their conversation.  Ben, of course, had a blast with that arrangement.  I enjoy taking photos like these because they are the types of scenes that otherwise might be forgotten if not captured on camera…and truly, these are the everyday moments that need to be recorded.

Come share one of your family shots at I ♥ Faces.  I’m excited about this theme, because I know it will give me some great ideas on how to set up family photos.  Any time I try to take a more formal photo, it just seems so unnatural.  With all the talented photographers adding their shots, I should gain an arsenal of great ideas.  This week is not-to-be-missed.  The uber-talented guest judge, Audrey Woulard, is the photographer for Pottery Barn Kids!  How cool is that?

  • Life with Kaishon - I loved this when I saw it the other night! Seriously LOVED it. You are right. You did capture a slice of time. And what a delicious slice it was! : ). Very sweet and fun! Don't you love how kids can find the craziest things to do that totally make them happy? I mean, that was probably a highlight of his week : ). When we were growing up, my dad used to take us for pick up truck rides during the summer. In the back. Isn't that great? Now of course, no parent would ever do that, but back then, that was like the highlight of our summer days! : )ReplyCancel
